Content
Geography
The territory of the okrug is shared by the Kuma River, on the left bank of which the village of Red October is located, and on the right is the Gorny farm .
The right bank of the river is a hilly area, while the left bank is lower, turning into a gentle hill. The territory of the district is included in the “Golden Corridor” of birds migrating from southern countries to the north, so here you can still see rare birds in the spring and autumn migrations.
The total area of the administrative territory of the Krasnooktyabrsky Village Council is 3330 hectares . Lands are mainly chestnut and light chestnut.
History
The village of Red October was founded in 1921.
Until February 18, 1993, the village was part of the Pokoynensky Village Council . On February 18, 1993, the Small Council of the Stavropol Territory Council of People’s Deputies decided “To form a Krasnooktyabrsky village council in the Budyonnovsky district with a center in the village of Red October. To include in its structure the village of Red October and the Gorny farm, isolated from the Pokoynensky village council of the same region ” [4] .

According to the 2002 census , Russians prevail in the national structure of the population (89%) [7] .
