Group History
The group was formed in 2002 by John Falls. After they became famous in their city of Memphis , their group was noticed by the record company Lava Records CEO Jason Flom.
Impressed by their first recording, Jason suggested recording an album from a concert performance. The debut album was recorded with producer Josh Abraham in Los Angeles . On December 3, 2012, Egypt Central officially broke up after lead singer John Falls and guitarist Jeff James refused to be part of the band. In response to this, a former member of Joy Chicago on Facebook published a letter saying that he regrets what happened, about the anger and devastation that he experienced at that moment, about how much he invested in the group for these short-lived 10 years. However, he does not intend to give up, Joy and Blake Ellison have organized a new group Devour The Day , in which he will say what he did not have time to say in Egypt Central.
