Biography
Band Formation, Debut Album (1996 - 1999)
The American Head Charge began when Cameron Hickock met Chad Hanks. Both of them at that time were in a rehabilitation clinic in Minneapolis. Then they began to compose music together. Before the group got its real name, several options were tried, but in the end the musicians settled on the name American Head Charge, which, according to Cameron and Chad, makes no sense. [one]
In 1999, the musicians released their own debut album Trepanation .
The War of Art (2000 - 2002)
The music of American Head Charge interested producer Rick Rubin , and in 2000 he offered the band a contract with American Recordings , on which the album The War Of Art was eventually recorded. It included some of the songs from Trepanation . Album The War of Art , released on August 21, 2001, ended up on 118th place on the Billboard chart . [2] In the summer of 2001, the band went on tour with the Ozzfest festival. [3] In 2002, clips were shot for the songs Just So You Know (directed by Kevin Kerslake) and All Wrapped Up (directed by Thomas Migoni). In the spring of 2002, guitarist Wayne Kyle left the band. [4] Brian Ottoson, former Black Food Diesel guitarist, takes his place. [five]
The Feeding (2002 - 2005)
Work on the third album begins in the summer of 2002, but eventually stretches for almost 2 years. [6] In January 2003, keyboardist Aaron Zilch left the band; Justin Fowler took over his duties. [7] In 2004, the band resigned from American Recordings due to creative disagreements with the label. After which the American Head Charge switches to Nitrus records , Greg Fidelman becomes the producer on The Feeding , before that he had already worked with the group as a sound engineer. [8] As a result, The Feeding released February 15, 2005.
During the band’s North American tour on April 19, 2005, guitarist Brian Ottoson dies. [9] An overdose of drugs is believed to be the cause of death for the 27-year-old musician. [ten]
To complete the tour, American Head Charge invites guitarist Benji Helberg to take the place. [11] In November 2005, guitarist Karma Chima was suddenly fired from the band. [12] And a few months later, in February 2006, drummer Chris Emery leaves the band. [13]
Can't Stop the Machine (2006 - 2008)
In the spring of 2006, American Head Charge announced the start of work on a new DVD / CD album. [14] Can't Stop the Machine double disc released April 3, 2007. In May 2007, Karma Chima returned to the group. [15]

Myspace :
"This is not the news that I would like to be a carrier, but we were ready and waited for a response from Cameron for almost two years; during this time we composed and recorded enough material for two albums." says co-founder and bassist Chad Hanks. "At the moment, the group is not a priority for him, which is very sad, because he has an amazing and unique voice; I was looking forward to hearing him in new songs. However, now we are looking for new blood; a young, hot soul that sounds like no one different and ready to work like a damn. We are more than eager to get back to work. That's what we're busy right now. "
Original text“This is not the kind of news I enjoy being the bearer of, but we've been ready and waiting for input from Cameron for almost two years; we've written and recorded two albums worth of material in that time. ”says co-founder and bassist Chad Hanks. “At this point, he no longer gives being in this band any sort of top priority, which is so sad seeing as how he has such an amazing and unique voice; I couldn't wait to hear it on these songs. “However, we're looking forward to some new blood; a young, hungry soul that doesn't sound like anyone else and is ready to work his ass off. We're more than eager to get back to the mines. This is what we do. ”
Reunion (2011-2014)
In the first half of 2011, Chad Hanks posted on Twitter about the reunion of the group. [17] The revived group included: Chad Hanks, Cameron Hickock, Karma Chima, Justin Fowler and Chris Emery. [18] In October 2011, the band went on tour in the United States. [19] At the same time, second guitarist Sin Quirin, known for working with the Ministry band, joined the band. [20] In October 2011, the musicians began recording a mini-album. [21] In April-May 2012, the American Head Charge went on a US Hed 2 Head 3 Tour with Mushroomhead and (hed) PE . [22] On May 9, 2012, the band released the single, Sugars of Someday, from an upcoming mini-album. [23] From the summer of 2012 to the spring of 2013, the group was inactive. Recording continued in the spring of 2013 with the participation of producer Dave Fortman . [24] The mini-album "Shoot" was released on July 23, 2013. In August-September 2013, the musicians went on a tour of the United States, and in November of the same year performed in the UK. [25] [26] The third part of the mini-album tour took place from late January to early March 2014 in the United States. [27]
