Duga Resa ( Croatian. Duga Resa ) is a city in Croatia , in the central part of the county of Karlovac . According to the 2001 census, the population is 6,601 people in the city itself and 12,114 in a community with a center in Duga Resa.

General information
Duga Resa is located 7 kilometers southwest of Karlovac . The city stands on the river Mrezhnitsa , a tributary of the Koran river at the foot of the Vinitsa hill (321 m). An important road passes through the city, leading from Karlovets towards the Vratnik pass in the Velebit mountains and further to the Adriatic coast and the town of Senj . Railway station on the line Karlovac - Ogulin - Delnice - Rijeka . The largest enterprise in the city is a weaving factory, founded in 1884. The guests of the city are attracted by the opportunity of fishing in the clean and rich fish of Mrezhnitsa.
Duga Resa was first mentioned in 1380 . “Arc” - means “long”, the etymology of the word Resa remains controversial, according to various versions it goes back to the decoration on a folk costume, the name of the plant, proper name [1] .

- St. Peter's Church - built in the 16th century, subsequently rebuilt, acquired a modern look in 1711.
