Biography
Born in Riga in the family of a worker. Latvian. In 1907, he and his family moved to Moscow. He worked at the factory "Bogatyr".
The participant of the October battles of 1917 in Moscow is the Red Guard of the Lefortovo detachment, a member of the General Staff of the Moscow Red Guard . He joined the Communist Party , was a member of the Moscow Committee.
In the Civil War, he was on the Eastern Front as Chief of the Intelligence Department and then as Commissar of the 5th Army Headquarters . He commanded the regiment, brigade and 30th infantry division. He distinguished himself in the capture of Achinsk , Krasnoyarsk , where his division captured a large number of Kolchak men , captured many guns and other trophies.
Then transferred to the Western Front , participated in the Soviet-Polish war . He was badly wounded. After leaving the hospital returned to the front.
From the end of 1920 he commanded the 27th division of the internal service, led the troops of the defense and protection of the railways of the Far Eastern Republic . In May-June 1921, he acted as Commander-in-Chief of the People's Revolutionary Army of the FER . In September - December 1921 - Commander of the Priamursky, in December 1921 - May 1922 - Trans - Baikal military districts . Since 1922 - studying in Moscow. In 1925 he graduated from the Military Academy of the Red Army [2] .
From 1925 to 1926 he was a military adviser in China . He was chief of staff at the Kaifeng group, then, from February 1926, after the group was disbanded, he was chief of staff of the Kalgan group. In April 1926, replaced the military attache , then became deputy chief military adviser to the North-Western Army.
Since 1927 - Commander of the 19th Primorsky Rifle Corps , Head of the Red Army Headquarters . In 1929 he graduated from the Advanced Command Courses of the High Command of the Red Army [2] .
In 1929 (until October 14) the commander of the 18th rifle corps .
In 1929-1930, the Chief of Staff of the Special Far Eastern Army .
Entered the aviation school and after graduation he moved to serve in the Air Force . In 1932 - 1933 - Assistant Commander of the Belarusian Military District , then, from December 1933 to January 1937, the Special Red Banner Far Eastern Army in the Air Force.
Arrest and death
May 17, 1937 arrested by the Special Department of the NKVD . He committed suicide in the Khabarovsk prison of the NKVD on September 21, 1937. Rehabilitated by the definition of the Military Collegium on May 30, 1956
