History

The song "Money, Money, Money" (working title - "Gypsy Girl") was written by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulveus . Released in November 1976, she echoed the success of Dancing Queen thanks to, among other things, a good combination of the dramatic design of the song and the vocal data of the lead singer Annie-Fried Lingstad .

Like most ABBA songs, a clip was later shot for the song “Money, Money, Money”. The director of the video, Lasse Hallström , later recognized “Money, Money, Money” as the best video of the ABBA group, in the creation of which he has ever participated [1] .

“Money, Money, Money” became one of three hits, along with Dancing Queen and Knowing Me, Knowing You , from the Arrival album. In Australia, the song remained No. 1 for six weeks. She took first places on the charts of countries such as Belgium , France , the Netherlands , West Germany , Mexico and New Zealand , and made it to the top three songs in Norway , Ireland , Switzerland , Austria and the UK .

In different countries, the single was published in different versions and, sometimes, with covers different from the Swedish original. For example, in Italy, the disc was published with the Knowing Me, Knowing You bi-side [2] , while French and Australian editions were issued with other versions of the album's envelope.
