Georgy Minayevich Harutyunyants (in Armenian Հարությունյանց Գեորտգի Մինայի ; 1925 - 1973 ) is an underground member and participant in World War II , a member of the anti-fascist organization Young Guard .

Biography
Before the war
Georgy Harutyunyants was born on May 31, 1925 in the city of Novocherkassk into a family of an employee. Armenian by nationality.
In 1931, he moved with his family to the city of Krasnodon . George studied at school number 1 named after A. M. Gorky. He loved sports, was fond of collecting, read a lot.
In 1941 he was accepted into the Komsomol and he became even more serious, demanding of himself, paid much attention to public work, was elected a member of the Komsomol committee of the school.
During the war
During the evacuation, Harutyunyants, together with his friends, was surrounded and returned home. Among the first, he joined the underground organization Young Guard . He participated in the collection of weapons, in the defeat of German cars, in the arson of a stack of bread, wrote and distributed leaflets. In early November, an underground printing house was created at Harutyunyants’s apartment. During the arrests of members of the underground in January 1943, George managed to leave the city. He joined the Red Army and participated in battles with the Wehrmacht .
After the war
In 1957, Harutyunyants graduated from the V.I. Lenin Military-Political Academy , served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.
In the last years of his life, Colonel Harutyunyants worked as a teacher at the V. I. Lenin Academy. Graduated from graduate school .
In 1969 he was awarded the degree of candidate of historical sciences .
G.M. Harutyunyants died on April 26, 1973 after a serious and prolonged illness.
He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery .
