Internet statistics are services that allow you to collect and analyze various information about visitors to the Web . Information is selected from data provided by network protocols. To obtain protocol variables from a user’s request, it is required that the server script of the Internet statistics system be executed together with the site page. The easiest and most useful way to do this is to place a hit counter on the page.
Site Visits Statistics
Statistics of site visits is considered the main indicator of the "untwisted" resource. There are two categories of counting: by unique visits to individual pages (“hits” - the counter is incremented by each visit to a new page) and by visitors (the counter is incremented by visiting a person who has not been there yet). Sometimes additional categories are allocated, such as unique IP addresses (“hosts”) or sessions .
Visitors counters can either be built into the server software (collecting data online or using the subsequent analysis of access logs to the site), or organized as a separate service that helps count site visitors by placing a special counter code on each page. The latter, usually, looks for the visitor to the site as a picture with the service logo, which sometimes displays the current site statistics.
Search Query Statistics
Query statistics - information about users accessing the search engine for “ keywords ”. In most cases, when working with the statistics service, it is possible to filter out the results by geography or even by a single language, and sometimes by month. Moreover, the service usually shows not only data about the search query, but also about phrases, synonyms and related topics (“also search”).
