Biography

May 1, 1791 entered the Naval Cadet Corps . He graduated from an educational institution in 1794 with production in midshipmen .

On the ship "St. Nikolai ”sailed in the Gulf of Finland . In 1795 and 1796 , on the ship "Iona", in the squadron of Vice Admiral Hanykov , went to the shores of England and cruised in the German Sea off the island of Texel .

Made on May 9, 1796 in midshipmen , in 1797 on the ship “12 Apostles” he was in a campaign near Krasnaya Gorka with a fleet under the standard of Emperor Paul I. In 1798, Povalishin went sailing in the Baltic Sea . In 1799 and 1800 on the ship "St. Alexander Nevsky ”made the transition from Kronstadt to the shores of England, where he cruised with landing troops off the Dutch coast . After that, he returned to Kronstadt. In 1801 and 1802 , Povalishin again sailed in the Gulf of Finland.

February 19, 1814 he was promoted to lieutenant commander . From 1814 to 1821 on the ship "Northern Star" was constantly on trips in the Baltic and German seas. In 1817 he made the transition from Kronstadt to Calais , from where he returned from France with the last Russian troops. In 1821 and 1823 he commanded the Kommersstrax brigade on the Kronstadt Northern Fairway. In 1825 he commanded the unarmed transport "Gustav-Adolph" at the Kronstadt roadstead.

January 7, 1826 promoted to captain of the 2nd rank . In 1827 he commanded the 18th naval crew in the Archipelago . In 1828 , commanding the Katzbach ship, he made the transition from Arkhangelsk to Kronstadt. January 1, 1829 promoted to captain of the 1st rank . He commanded the ship " St. George the Victorious " and the 23rd naval crew.

April 6, 1835 promoted to rear admiral and appointed commander of the 3rd brigade of the 2nd naval division. On December 6, 1837, it was renamed major general and commanded the 1st brigade of flippers of the Baltic Fleet, and on January 18, 1850, was promoted to lieutenant general with dismissal from service.

He died on October 11, 1852 in Moscow .

Rewards

November 26, 1816 "For the immaculate service in officer ranks, 18 six-month naval campaigns" was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 3255 according to the cavalier list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).
