In addition to being one of the members who founded A Tribe Called Quest, Phife took part in tracks with other artists. He has participated in Fu-Schnickens ' La Schmoove, Diamond D 's Painz & Strife with Pete Rock , and Black Sheep 's Let the Horns Blow along with Al' Tariq and Trugoy, among others. In 2000 he released his first solo album Ventilation: Da LP . Before his death, Phife worked on his second album, Songs in the Key of Phife.

Personal life

In May 1990, Malik was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus [5] . In 2008, he needed a kidney transplant. The donor was his wife, but the operation was unsuccessful. And in 2012, he again needed a kidney transplant. He died on March 22, 2016 due to complications associated with diabetes at the age of 45 years [6] .

May 17, 2019 in the city of Auckland, the USA became the official day of the artist with the name “Phife Dawg Day”, as you know, the artist lived the last 15 years of his life in Auckland County with his wife, where she came from [7] .
