Literary Prize for the Liberation of Buraku ( 部落 解放 文学 ура Buraku Kaiho: Bungaku Shё:) - Japanese Literary Prize. Established in 1974 by the Buraku Liberation League . Supervised by the League’s headquarters and the Osaka Institute for the Liberation of Burak and Human Rights. Accepted works of burakumins and others expressing protest against discrimination. The list of candidates is published in the Liberation Newspaper (解放 新聞). The award ceremony is held in March at the annual session of the League. The works participating in the competition are published in a special issue of the journal “Liberation of Burak” (部落 解放). The award was preceded by the release by the League of poetic anthology and a collection of educational works on discrimination of beetroot animals . Among the winners are Burakumin Kazuo Ishikawa (for tank poetry), who suffered from police arbitrariness and discrimination in the famous Sayama case .
