The film tells about the fate of four milkmaid sisters living in one of the Soviet villages in the mid-1970s.

Here is the older Antonida, who had to leave her beloved man and raise her three younger sisters after her mother’s death, and which they therefore still affectionately call the nanny.

Here is Shura, whose husband at work constantly travels around the country and calls her every time with him, but who does not want to leave her beloved village and eventually persuades her husband to stay with her.

Here is Lida, who, apparently because of the Petrov breed constantly gives birth to her husband only daughters, despite the fact that he longs for a guy.

Here is the youngest Masha, who became completely isolated after the death of her military husband two years ago and therefore constantly repels Volodya who is taking care of her.

Former lover of Antonida has now become a famous singer and appears on television. Will she be able to meet him again ...
