Motor freestyle

Spanish motor-freestyleist Maikel Melero performs the “Rock” stunt

Motocross freestyle ( Eng. Freestyle motocross, Freestyle MX, Moto X, FMX ) is a term that appeared in the USA in the 1990s, which meant the incredible jumps with acrobatic elements that professionals made during motocross. Today, motofreestyle is a young sport in which athletes jump from special jumps, performing various tricks in flight.

Motor freestyle can be divided into five main areas in which professional competitions are held. These include:

1. Motofreestyle (freestyle motocross, freestyle motocross) - in this competition, each athlete has a certain time limit (usually 2 minutes), for which he must complete his program from a series of tricks. As a rule, athletes tend to perform as many tricks as possible. Typically, their number ranges from 10 to 15 per speech.

2. Best Trick Contest - competition for the best trick. Each athlete has 2 attempts to perform the trick. The trick can be the same, or it can be different. The largest indicator is set off. In this competition, the novelty of the stunt plays a very significant role. If the trick has never been performed in the history of this sport - it is very likely that he will receive the maximum rating.

3. High jumps (Step Up - Amer., Highest Air - Europ.) - competition for high jumps over the bar. Each athlete has 2 attempts at the height line. The winner is the one who jumps above all, that is, remains the last to overcome a new height line. This is usually a bar above 30 feet.

4. Best Whip Contest is a competition for the best performance of the Whip trick, which consists in positioning the bike in flight as horizontally as possible. Whoever copes better with this task wins.

5. Speed and style (Speed and style - Amer., Race and Style - Europe.) - This is a simultaneous race of two athletes on a cross track. The offset includes both the time taken to complete the course and the number and quality of tricks performed on the track. A big advantage in the complexity of tricks or in the time of passing the track brings victory.

6. Freeriding (Freeriding) - a ride riders in the open mountainous terrain. This type of motofreestyle stands apart, as there are no tracks and no judges. There are only hills, mountains and fields, in general, an athlete competes with nature in an open area.

Refereeing. Judging in motofreestyle, as a rule, is carried out according to 5-6 criteria, for each of which there is a specific judge:
