The game of Romanichev is his debut in Russian drafts . The debut tab comes up after 1.cd4 fe5. 2.d: f6.
Black's answer may be 2 ... g: e5 or 2 ... e: g5. In the first case, such a system was played at the end of the 19th century by one of the strongest players in Moscow S. Romananychev (he died in 1891), hence the name of the debut. It was given by the publishers of the magazine Shashechnitsa (Moscow) Pavel Pavlovich Bobrov and Davyd Ivanovich Sargin in the issue for 1892, that is, a year later from the death of Romanichev.
This beginning was developed in detail by S. A. Romanichev, who claimed that White wins in this opening. The first 4 or 5 moves can happen by chance in parties of people who never knew Romanichev, but the development of the debut ... belongs entirely to Romanichev, at least we don’t know anyone else who would investigate this beginning in all cases
[one]
After the analysis at the beginning of the 20th century , made by Alexander Shoshin , this variation with a lunge of 2 ... g: e5 was called the Fatal Beginning , as it became clear that Black gets a very bad game after 3.ab4. After a refutation of the main version (which can be played for the sake of an acute game), Romanichev’s game began to be associated with the exchange on board 2 ... e: g5.
