Stygimoloch ( lat. Stygimoloch ) is a genus of dinosaurs from the pachycephalosaurids family that lived in the Cretaceous period ( maastrichtus ) in the territory of modern USA and Canada [2] .

The first fossils were discovered in 1957 in Chicago . A predator tooth was found in the femur of the stygimoloch; a deinonychus skull was found next to the skeleton. Stigimoloch was a herbivore . On his head was a bone dome with horns at the back [3] . Its closest relative is the pachycelaphosaurus.
The strong head looked like a dome with spikes on its sides that resembled the branching horns of modern deer. The horns served more to intimidate than to fight. Perhaps the males butted their heads in the battle for the female or the place of the leader in the pack
