History

The duet was created in the 1990s, when Kasilov and Chvanov worked together on the Samara television channel LIK in Togliatti , where the comedy program Desert was broadcast. They achieved local popularity on the air of the Togliatti radio station “August”. First, Igor and Sergey played small screensavers in the form of granny's dialogs, and a few months later went live . At the peak of their popularity, the video cassette “150 Mule from Grannies” appeared [1] .

In 1999, they performed in the Cup of Humor of Evgeny Petrosyan . Then the first recital of “grandmas” took place at the Variety Theater . It is believed that "New Russian Grandmas" is a modern version of the famous Soviet humorous duo Veronica Mavrikievna and Avdotya Nikitichny .

Matryona and Tsvetochka quickly filled with themselves all the humorous programs of the central channels of Russian television - Smehopanorama , Crooked Mirror , Joke for a Joke , etc.

New Russian Grandmas participated in the humorous television program Curved Mirror , and they also invariably conduct all the anniversary and holiday concerts of the central television channels.

From 2005 to 2012 and from 2018, along with Nikolai Baskov, they host the program “Saturday Night” on the TV channel Russia .

December 31, 2009 appeared in the role of Turtles Tortill on the New Year musical " Golden Key ".

And on December 31, 2010, they starred as paranormal grandmas in the musical Morozko. They starred in one of the series of the newsreel " Jumble " (issue number 185, "Fairy Gift").

The winners of the show " It's Funny " on the channel Russia-1 .

From June to July 2015, they hosted the new entertaining comedy show Vesyolaya Street on the Russia-1 channel [2] .

Criticism

The duet was repeatedly criticized for the abundance, in the opinion of critics, of primitive humor in performances [3] . It was noted that the artists are very similar to transvestites [4] . Alexander Druz called the “grandmothers” humor inferior [5] . Television critic Lyudmila Troitskaya noted [6] : “ In addition to“ witty ”jokes, in the“ woman’s ”menu are parodies of pop stars (this is what they really do well),“ bearded ”jokes, vulgar rhymes, folk ditties,“ Kaveen ”jokes, long gone to the people . "
