Biography
The son of a rural teacher. From 1882 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory . He graduated from the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society in the trombone class B. Rempe (1887) and in the composition class PI. Blaramberg (1890). In the early 1890s organized the first quartet of brass instruments in Russia; composed of: I. V. Lipaev, A. K. Marquardt and F. Putkamer (pipes; in the 1900s, the last two were replaced by V. G. Brandt and M. I. Tabakov ), I. F. Kunst (alto horn) [1] . The quartet often gave concerts, a number of interesting chamber works were written for it.
Artist of the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theater in 1893-1898, 1903 - 1912 and 1924 - 1931 . In 1907–1917 actor and inspector of Historical Concert Orchestra S. N. Vasilenko . In 1922 - 1926 he played in Persimfans . He also performed as a conductor, drama actor, lecturer, musicologist, director. In 1903 he organized and headed the Society for Mutual Assistance of Orchestral Musicians. In 1912 - 1921 he led the trombone class and the history of music at the Saratov Conservatory (from 1917 professor). In 1923 - 1934 he taught music history in the Moscow music technical schools named. A. G. and N. G. Rubinstein and the Music School. MM Ippolitova-Ivanova .
In the literary field he spoke for the first time in 1885 , since then (sometimes under the pseudonym of Samarov and Volgarev) he has regularly appeared in newspapers and magazines "News of the Day" ( 1885 - 1901 ), "Theater and Life" ( 1888 - 1890 ), Russian Leaflet ( 1893 - 1904 ), "Theater, Izvestia" ( 1893 - 1900 ), "Theater" ( 1895 - 1897 ), "Theater and Art" ( 1897 - 1898 ), "Music and Life" ( 1908 - 1912 ), "Saratov leaf "( 1913 - 1917 )," Rabis "( 1927 - 1930 ) and others with historical and journalistic articles, biographical essays. Publisher and editor of the Musical Worker magazine ( 1906 - 1910 ), Orchestra ( 1910 - 1912 ). In 1896-1917 regular correspondent and employee of the Russian Musical Gazette .
The handwritten heritage of Lipaev is stored in the State Central Medical Center named after Glinka (fund 13) and RGALI (fund 795).
