Salipartiano

Salipartiano is a specific principality in the north-eastern part of Megrelia on the border with Imereti , divided into two parts by the Tahuri River. The name comes from the name Liparit, and means - the possession of Liparita (apparently Liparita Dadiani ). At least since the end of the 16th century, it was transferred into the possession of the younger sons of the rulers of Megrelia. In 1662, it was granted by the ruler of Levan IV - Katsia Chikovani . From the name of the principality comes the family nickname of some of its rulers - Lipartiani.
