History

It was founded at the end of the 19th century as the Pavlo-Saranovsky Kuren .

The settlement arose in 1889 in connection with the discovery of a chromite deposit used in the chemical and ceramic industries. In 1889, the extraction of chromites began. Over the century of exploitation, more than 10 million tons of chromite ore have been mined.

The status of an urban-type settlement is from June 26, 1940 .
