Harman is a settlement (in 1965–2013 - an urban-type settlement ) in the Olsky district of the Magadan region of Russia . Located at the mouth of the river of the same name , on which it is named (from the Evenk. Anmanra - “spring”) [2] .

Climatic conditions
The sea climate is formed under the influence of monsoon winds that blow in winter from the cooled mainland to the sea, and in summer from the cold sea to the mainland. This is due to a moderately severe and dry winter, cold and overcast summer. The period with positive temperatures is 154 days, with negative temperatures - 211 days a year. The average temperature in summer is + 11 ° С, in winter −5–20 ° С.
History
The date of foundation of the settlement is considered to be 1717 [3] ; Its inhabitants were Evens. At that time, in connection with the opening of the 4 thousand km long tract from Yakutsk to Petropavlovsk, the “ Qaur duty” was imposed on the Armans. In 1896, 89 people lived in the village. In 1932, the Awakened North collective farm was established in Armani, in which reindeer breeding, farming, fishing and plant growing became the main branches of the economy. In 1943, he became a millionaire, and in 1960 he was transformed into a state farm , where a large mink farm was opened on fish processing waste. In 1965, Arman received the status of an urban-type settlement. In 1976, the Armansky hatchery was built [4] .

In the village there are: a secondary school (about 100 students), a kindergarten "Pushinka", a music school; hospital for 4 beds, post office, club, library, 13 stores. The monthly newspaper Armansky Vestnik is published.
Armani has 66 apartment buildings. The length of the road network is 5.7 km.
A stele is installed on Sverdlov Square in honor of the participants of the Great Patriotic War [3] .
Archaeological finds
In 1951, the Neolithic site of ancient sea hunters was discovered in the vicinity of the village [4] .
