It is located in the middle of the taiga, on the Bodaibo River at the confluence of the Balakhna River, 18 km north of the city of Bodaibo and 900 km northeast of Irkutsk .

The highway passes through the village from the city of Bodaibo to the north - to the villages of Artyomovsky , Kropotkin , Perevoz . There is an airport near Bodaibo. There are no railways.
