The name comes from "Chul-Ji-Uri", which in the language of the Aboriginal people means "hot, warm." [2]
Geographical position
The village is located in the valley of the Kuldur river ( Bira basin), in the spurs of the Bureinsky ridge . [2]
The railway station is located on the line Izvestkovaya - Novy Urgal . The distance to the village Limestone is 30 km away.
Highway to the village. Kuldur goes north from the village. Birakan (standing on the Chita - Khabarovsk highway ), the distance to the village. Biracan is 25 km away.
The distance to Birobidzhan is 135 km, the distance to Obluchye is 77 km.
History
It was founded in 1897. Since 1938 - a summer cottage village, since 1958 - an urban-type resort village , since 2001 - a village of Obluchensky district of the Jewish Autonomous Region. [3]
A systematic study of the sources began in 1910. In 1912, a primitive hydropathic clinic was opened. Since 1923, patients began to receive qualified medical care, and in 1925 the first boarding house was organized. Now the Kuldur sanatorium complex is a city-forming one. [four]

The parish of the Russian Orthodox Church belongs to the Birobidzhan and Kuldur diocese . [20]
Resort
Health resort of federal significance. [21] There are four sanatoriums operating in the resort area: OJSC Kuldur Sanatorium, Gornyak, a military pension, and the first Sanus sanatorium in the Far East. [21]
Treatment
According to the chemical composition, the waters of Kuldur are nitrous siliceous with weakly mineralized hydrocarbonate-chloride sodium alkaline with a high fluorine content. One well emits radon water. [21] They are characterized by a high content of silicic acid (112 milligrams per liter) compared with the average standards of Russian resorts (50 milligrams per liter). [22] Balneological factors have a beneficial effect. Directions of treatment: arthritis , osteochondrosis, and especially skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis .
