Biography
He graduated from high school in Plock . During his studies at the gymnasium, he experienced a religious crisis and lost faith. He graduated from high school at the age of 15 years. From 1845 to 1848 he studied at the Art School in Warsaw . He was accused of an anti-Russian conspiracy and arrested on April 23, 1846. February 27, 1847 was released due to an epidemic of typhoid , which spread in prison. December 21, 1848 entered the Franciscan Order of the Capuchins in the city of Lubartow .
He made his first temporary monastic vows on December 21, 1849, and went to Lublin to study theology . December 18, 1850 took eternal monastic vows. In 1851 he continued his theological education in Warsaw. In 1852 he completed his studies and began to teach rhetoric in Warsaw. December 27, 1852 was ordained bishop Anthony Fiyalkovsky to the priest. From 1853 to 1855 he taught theology in Warsaw. In 1855, together with Maria Angela Trushkovskaya, he founded the women's monastic congregation of sisters of the Felitsian women. He participated in the religious revival of the Catholic Church in Poland, contributing to the development of various religious Catholic movements and prayer groups of the “ living Rosary ”.
After the Polish uprising of 1864, the tsarist government liquidated most of the Catholic monasteries that were located on the territory of the Russian Empire . After the monastery was closed in Warsaw, Honorat Kozminski was transferred to the monastery in Zakroczym . Under severe restrictions on the activities of the Catholic Church, Honorat Kozminsky founded clandestine monastic communities (the so-called "hideouts"), for whom he wrote a charter based on the third Franciscan Order of the Tertiary. From 1872 to 1898 he founded 14 women's underground communities (today they are called the “honorary orders”), whose activities were charity, distribution and teaching the basics of the faith among Catholic families, workers, hospitals.
Since 1892, he was in the monastery of the Franciscan Order of the Capuchins in the town of Nove Miasto nad Pilica. Since 1895 he became commissioner of the order. At the same time he sent secret messages to Rome about the situation of the Catholic Church in Poland. At the end of his life, he experienced numerous persecutions from the authorities, who monitored his activities and repeatedly called for interrogations.
