Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults ( LADA ; LADA ; type 1.5 diabetes) - diabetes mellitus , the symptoms and initial course of which are consistent with the clinical picture of type 2 diabetes , but the etiology lies closer to type 1 diabetes : antibodies are detected pancreatic beta cells and glutamate decarboxylase enzyme. According to various estimates, in different populations, from 6% to 50% of patients diagnosed with type II diabetes are actually affected by latent autoimmune diabetes in adults. [1] Perhaps LADA is the “soft” edge of the spectrum of manifestations of type 1 diabetes. [2]
