Biography

Stanislav Noakovsky after studying at a real school in the city of Wloclawek studied architecture at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg (1886-1894). He received medals from the Academy of Arts: a small silver (1890), a large silver medal (1891), a small gold medal (1893) for the program “Hotel for visitors in the capital” . The title of the class artist of the 1st degree (1894). In 1896 he was seconded to three years as a pensioner at the Academy of Fine Arts in France , Germany and Italy . [3]

From March 29, 1899 he became the head of the museum of the Imperial Stroganov Central Art and Industry School , from January 1, 1900 - an inspector of the same school. Since 1906 - Professor of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture . Since 1905, he was a companion (deputy) chairman of the Moscow Architectural Society .

The title of academician (1914) [3] . Since 1915 - a member of the Imperial Academy of Arts .

After the October Revolution in 1918, he became a member of the Moscow Board of Arts and the Art Industry of the Department of Fine Arts of the People's Commissariat of Education .

In 1918 he moved to Poland . Since 1919. - Professor of the history of modern architecture of the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute .

Noakovsky did not become a practical architect, his entire creative life was engaged in watercolor, the main theme of which was the ancient architecture of Poland.
