Alma Arasan (village)

Alma-Arasan ( kaz. Alma-Arasan ) is a village and a balneological mountain resort in the Karasai district of the Almaty region of Kazakhstan . It is part of the Bolshealmatinsky rural district [1] . It is located 26 km from Alma-Ata (from the border of the city in 2012 no more than 10 km.) In the Alma-Arasan Gorge, Zailiysky Alatau, in a picturesque area, at an altitude of 1800-1850 meters above sea level. Opened in 1931. It operates year-round, with 220 seats in the summer and 200 in the winter.

Summer is moderately warm (average July temperature is 15 ° C), winter is mild (average January temperature is -4 ° C), autumn is warm, clear.

Population

In 1999, the village population was 236 people (109 men and 127 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 772 people lived in the village (383 men and 389 women) [2] .

About the Resort

The main treatment is weakly mineralized thermal waters, which are used for baths. Treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, gynecological and others.

It is not a ski resort, on the way to the gorge there are many restaurants and cafes of various levels, the road to the gorge itself is divided into western and eastern directions, there are a pioneer camp in the territory, the sanatorium - “ Alma-Arasan ”, a space station.

  • Many Almaty residents go on weekends for hiking in the mountains, as well as on bicycle trips. Along the mountain river you can see picnics, campsites of tourists, etc.
  • Therapeutic sources - mineralized mineral water sulphate-carbonate sodium-silicon;
  • Hot springs - hydrogen sulfide water with radon (t 36-40 degrees)
  • Thin mountain air contributes to the treatment of diseases of the organs of motion, respiratory organs of non-tuberculous nature, the peripheral nervous system and gynecological diseases.

Other facts

  • At the entrance to the gorge there is an ecological post; the fee for one car is 500-1000 tenge.
  • For clogging the "resort" with garbage, an administrative fine is provided.
  • The territory of the sanatorium "Alma-Arasan" is currently privately owned and inaccessible to tourists.
