Geography

Located on the left bank of the Yenisei River , in the mountain taiga zone, 10 kilometers from the town of Sayanogorsk and 16 kilometers from the village of Cheryomushki .

The settlement is located Mainskaya HPP .

History

Founded in 1732. From the “Travel Descriptions of Siberia” by G. F. Miller, it follows that the name of the settlement was obtained from the Omayne Copper Mine, located nearby. The mine, in turn, received its name from the Omay, which dominates the area, located on the opposite bank of the Yenisei.

Transportation

Located on the regional road 95N-310 Sayanogorsk - Mainskaya HPP - Cheryomushki.

From the village you can go to Sayanogorsk by buses 2, 2a, 3, 3a. In Cheryomushki - only on routes 2 and 2a. There are also flights to Shushenskoye , Sizuyu and Abakan . The fare (as of 01/01/2015) is 20-25 rubles.
