The 2008 World Ice Hockey Championship in the III division - a sports ice hockey competition under the auspices of the IIHF , held from March 31 to April 6, 2008 in Luxembourg . The teams that took the first and second places got the right to play in the second division of the 2009 World Championship .

The national teams of Turkey and the DPRK came from the second division , the Greek team got to the championship through the qualifying tournament , the rest from the last tournament of the third division .

Interesting Facts
- The Mongolian national team brought almost the same squad to the championship that they had previously played in the world hockey championship in Moscow [1] .
- In the national team of Luxembourg , plays the oldest participant in the world championships in modern history - 49-year-old defender Rafael Springer . Springer began his career at the age of 18, was forced to stop playing at the age of 25, but returned to the ice at 35. He is also an artist, a writer and a sculptor. Before the start of the tournament, his next book, entitled “Sausage. End. World " [2] .
