1973 World Aquatics Championship

The 1973 World Aquatics Championship - the first world championship was held from August 31 to September 9, 1973 in Belgrade at the Tashmaydan Sports Center .

The championship was attended by 686 athletes from 47 countries. In four sports 37 sets of awards were played. Soviet athletes left the first World Aquatics Championship without gold medals, winning 4 silver and one bronze medal.
