Biography
Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen in 1902. Jacobsen's first profession is a bricklayer. Then in 1924 he entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts [2] .
While still a student in 1925, Jacobsen participated in the World Exhibition , where he won a silver medal for chair design. On this trip, he was struck by the innovative aesthetics of the L'Esprit Nouveau Le Corbusier pavilion. Before leaving the academy, Jacobsen also traveled to Germany, where he became acquainted with the rationalistic architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius . Their work influenced his early creations, including his graduation project of an art gallery, which earned him a gold medal [3] .
When the Second World War began, he, as a Jew , had to flee from Denmark to Sweden , where he was forbidden to work as an architect, and he became a fabric artist. [four]
Furniture design work

The chair has a metal frame, which includes three chrome legs (originally they were plastic). Later in 1980, a four-leg modification was added (Model No. 3101). | |
