Wright, Betty Wren

Betty Ren Wright ( Eng. Betty Ren Wright ; 1927-2013) is an American children's writer who works in the genre of adventure and mysticism. She was best known for her third book, The Doollhouse Murders, which received nine state awards in a child vote and was filmed in 1992. Betty Wren's second popular work is Christine's Ghost, which received seven state awards.

The first writing experience took place at the age of eight, when she wrote a short poem in her notebook. She liked it so much that after she never stopped writing. She graduated from primary and secondary schools in Milwaukee and graduated from college there. Soon after receiving her education, her first mystical story was published for children, and a few years later her first illustrated book was published. For many years, Betty Ren worked as an editor of children's books, and was engaged in writing in her free time.

At the time of her death, Wright lived in Racine , Wisconsin , with her husband, artist George Frederiksen, whom she married in 1976 . In 2006, Betty Wren was named the Wisconsin Library Association by the state’s best children's author.
