About the album

“ Cheap Thrills ” achieved great success: by October, it had won first place on the Billboard chart and turned out to be the best-selling album of 1968, with a circulation of just under a million copies. The song Piece of My Heart became a hit, which was subsequently performed by many other musicians, and the performance of Summertime from the opera “Porgy and Bess” turned into one of the most memorable and frequently used recordings of Janice Joplin . The album cover was created by the famous illustrator Robert Cramb . The name “Cheap Thrills” can be translated into Russian as “cheap passions,” “base fun.”
