Tournament Rules
12 teams took part in the Super League. Competitions were held in three stages - the 1st, 2nd and final. First, the games of the 1st stage on the tour system with the participation of 11 teams took place. At the 2nd stage, the 7 best and Uralochka-NTMK (exempted from the games at the 1st stage of the championship) identified four teams that continued the fight for medals by the roaming calendar. The final stage went through the tour system in one round, taking into account the results of the games of the final teams among themselves at the 2nd stage of the championship. Teams that took 8-11 places at the 2nd stage at the 2nd stage, taking into account the results of the games among themselves at the previous stage of the round according to the tour system, played places from 9th to 12th.
For the victory, the teams received 2 points, for the loss - 1, for the failure to appear - 0. If the points were equal for two or more teams, the alignment was determined by the ratio of won and lost games in all matches. In the application for the match, it was allowed to declare 12 volleyball players, including one libero.
Since the 2000-2001 season, the system of scoring during the match has been changed in accordance with international rules: a) each ball ends with a point gain by one or another team (before that, only the server could win a point) ; b) the game (except for the decisive 5th) is won by the team that scores 25 points first with an advantage of at least 2 points (before this game, 1st to 4th games were played up to 15 with an advantage of 2 points, but up to a maximum of 17 won points of one of the parties) : c) in the case of an equal score in 2: 2 games, the decisive (5th) game is played in the same format - up to 15 points with a minimum advantage of 2 points.
