Maashey ( Masha [1] or Maasheiskoe ) - a former lake located in the North-Chuisky Range in the Altai Mountains at an altitude of 1984 m. width up to 400 m. Formed about 100 years ago as a result of a landslide that blocked the river bed. Near the basin are the powerful glaciers Maashey , Kurkurek and Kurumbu . Having walked around the valley of the lake along the western shore and following further along the bed of Maashei, one can reach the Great Maashey glacier, from under which the river flows.
