Title
Presumably, the area is named after Bayandaya - the ancestor of the Buryats of the Bayandayevsky clan of the Ekhiri tribe [3] .
Geography
Located 65 km northeast of the village of Ust-Orda and 130 km northeast of the city . Irkutsk on the Bayandayka River. It is located 77 km from Elants. The ferry to Olkhon Island is 130 km away.
History
According to legend, all Buryat tribes fought among themselves, took away cattle, land and wives from each other. The father of Bayandai was the famous hero Khulta-Sagan, who defeated everyone and became the leader of the local people. When Bayandai grew up, he and his brother Olzon replaced their father. Bayanday had seven grandchildren, seven Buryat villages appeared in their honor.
Officially, Bayandai is referred to as the site of a Russian campaign during the conquest of Eastern Siberia. The advancement of the Russians took place along the rivers Upper Tunguska (Angara), Lower Tunguska and Uda. The starting points of this advancement were Yeniseisk , founded in 1619, Krasnoyarsk in 1628, and Irkutsk in 1661. On the same path arose: Ust-Orda , Olzona , Half , and Hogot . The resettlement of Russians and Buryats began.

Production
Since the 1990s, the production of light and heavy industry in the village has sharply decreased, it has turned into a crisis state, from which it gradually began to emerge in the late 2000s. The main activity is agriculture - raising cattle, horses, pigs at the hotel.
