| Silver | Katerzhina Noymanova | 17: 42.7 |
| Bronze | Bente martinsen | 17: 49.4 |

900 meters before the finish, Noymanova won Lazutina for about a second, but the Russian finish area was so great that the Czech (thanks to the later starting number who knew Lazutina’s schedule) could not get ahead of her. Gold in this race was the third in his career and the first personal in the Olympics of the Russian athlete.
February 12 - 10 km free style, pursuit
The pursuit race consisted in the start of the athletes in the order of their location in the race report on the 5 km classics (that is, in the direction of “moving away from the leaders”). Athletes started at intervals of 5 km from the leader, equal to their lagging behind him at that distance.
| Medal | Sportsman | Time |
| Gold | Larisa Lazutina | 28: 29.9 |
| Silver | Olga Danilova | 28: 36.4 |

Notes: Almost from the very start and up to the ninth kilometer of the race Lazutina and Noymanov went together, but the Russian woman in the area of the mark of 8.7 km began finishing spurt, which the Czech could not support. Soon she was “pulled out” by a group of several pursuers, which at that time was headed by Chepalova. This group and played at the finish line silver and bronze medals, which thanks to the most powerful accelerations won Danilov and Noymanov.
February 16 - 4x5 km, relay race
The first two stages of the athletes overcome classics, and the final 2-ridge.

Notes: The first two stages of the national team of Russia and Norway went together, going apart from the rest of the teams from almost the first kilometer. In the third stage, on the longest climb, Vialbe made an attack, thanks to which she broke away from Nilson and brought the Norwegian to the finish line for almost 30 seconds. Lazutina was able to confidently maintain the gap and finish with the Russian flag. Stefania Belmondo accomplished the feat at the 4th stage of the relay - for 5 km she raised the team from 10th place to third, playing a minute from the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany, and winning the finish spurt.
