Maria Faranduri ( Greek Μαρία Φαραντούρη , born November 28, 1947 , Athens ) is a Greek singer and public figure.

She is best known for her collaboration with composer Mikis Theodorakis , which began back in 1965 , when Faranduri recorded the first disc with Theodorakis’s vocal cycle, The Mauthausen Ballad. It was followed by “Gypsy Romancero” to poems by Federico Garcia Lorca , “Universal Song” to poems by Pablo Neruda and many other collaborations.
In 1989 - 1993 Faranduri was a member of the Greek Parliament from the Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement .
