Aigun

Aigun ( Chinese trad. 愛輝 , pinyin : Àihún ) or Aigun is a former city in northern Manchuria , lower than Blagoveshchensk along Amur . Currently - a village in the Eihui district of the Heihe urban district , located 30 km south of the center of Heihe.

History

Erofei Khabarov mentioned in 1658 the ducher village of Aytyun, which is identified with the Grodekovsky settlement on the opposite bank of the Amur. Aigun (which translates as "bright jade ") was moved to its next place shortly after the campaign to Albazin . Until 1690, the city served as the headquarters of the military governor Heilongjiang , but also subsequently was of great strategic interest.

It was in Aigun in 1858 that the Governor-General of Siberia N. N. Muravyov-Amursky signed the Aigun Treaty with Qing China. Under this agreement, the left bank of the Amur River passed from Russia, from the Argun River to the Pacific Ocean. For the solution of the Amur Question, N. N. Muravyov was elevated to the columns with the title Amur [1] .
