Le Palais ( French: Le Palais , Bret. Porzh-Lae ) is a commune within the Morbihan department , one of the four communes of Belle-Ile Island. The population is 2526 inhabitants (as of 2006 [2] ).

Le Palais is a seaport. Le Palais port is connected by ferry lines to several other cities in France.
Attractions
The main attraction is the Belle-Ile Citadel (also known as the Vauban Citadel). This fortress was founded in 1549 by Francois Rogan , and was subsequently rebuilt several times, including Vauban . The fortress protected the island from English and Spanish troops, as well as from pirates. Currently, the museum is located in the fortress.
