Lorenz, Max (football player)

Max Lorenz (born Max Lorenz ; born August 19, 1939 ) is a West German footballer who played the midfield position. Spent 19 matches for the national team of Germany , in its composition became the silver medalist of the 1966 World Cup and bronze medalist of the 1970 World Cup .

Career

Became a player " Bremen " before the start of the season 1960/61. I won the 1961 German Cup with Bremen. He played in the Cup Winners Cup 1961/62 , spent all 4 matches against Aarhus and Atletico [1] . After the creation of the West German Bundesliga won the German Federal Republic-1964/65 Championship with Werder Bremen. In the European Champions Cup 1965/66 draw 4 matches [2] .

As part of the first German national team, he made his debut on April 24, 1965 in a meeting of the qualifying tournament of the 1966 World Cup with the Cyprus national team in Karlsruhe (5: 0) [3] . He entered the national team's application for the final tournament, but did not enter the field. Took part in two historic victories of the German national team of 1968 over the teams of England (1: 0 in Hannover on June 1) and Brazil (2: 1 in Stuttgart on June 16). In the qualifying match of the World Cup 1970 , again against Cyprus on May 21, 1969, he participated in a major 12: 0 victory, scoring his first and only goal for the national team [4] .
