Rabi-Kounga ( French Rabi-Kounga ) - the largest oil field in Gabon [1] [2] , located in the rainforest belt 140 km south of the city of Port-Gentil . Opened in June 1985 . Development began in 1987 [3] .
Oil content is associated with Cretaceous deposits . Initial oil reserves are 140 million tons.
The operator of the field is Shell (42.5%). Other project participants: Total Gabon (32.924%), TPPG [4] (14.576%).
The peak of production occurred in 1997 , when production reached 10.9 million tons (217 thousand barrels per day) [5] , but then a rapid decline began [3] .

- 2000 - 4.9 million tons (100 thousand barrels per day) [5]
- 2003 - 2.5 million tons [1]
- 2007 - 1.7 million tons (12.2 million barrels) [6]
- 2008 - 1.3 million tons (9.8 million barrels) [6]
Now the field produces about 2.75 million tons of oil per year, and its residual reserves are estimated at 25 million tons. .
