History

The village of Malopolovetskoye is located southwest of the city of Fastov , 20 kilometers away. It is spread over the ravines and humps that surround the middle course of the Sobot River, where it branches into two tributaries, forming a triangle in which the settlements of our oldest ancestors first appeared.

The Sobot River, which crosses the village, originates 15 km south-west of the village, in the fields of the village of Pochuiki, Popelyansky District, Zhytomyr Region . It flows into the Kamenka River in the territory of the village of Velikopolovetskoye. According to the testimony of L. Pokhilevich, the name of the village resembles the Polovets known in our ancient history. L. Pokhilevich in a book about the population of the Kiev province writes: "It is very possible that the foundation of the village belongs to the era of the Polovtsian invasions."

He concluded that Tugorhan , the Polovtsian prince, whose daughter was married in 1094 to the Prince of Kiev Svyatopolk, Tugorhan then owned the city of Squira and with. Trilisami, and Malopolovetskoe from Trilis eight kilometers towards M. Squira. From this we can assume that the Malopolovetskoye came into the possession of Tugorkhan. In 1591, the Malopolovetskoye already belonged to the Belotserkovsky old age and this year it was destroyed by the Crimean Tatars.

The illustration of 1616 testifies: “There are 15 numbers in this village of settled people. “They do not give any duties and surcharges, by the force of dismissal which they have been given for a certain number of days.” “In 1740, there were already 80 houses in Malopolovetsky, there was a parish church in the village, the villages of which were Krasnolysy 20, Yakhny 10 and Zubari 10 houses”. From this we can conclude that the village of Malopolovetskoe was founded in the second half of the eleventh century. The first settlers were Polovtsy, who began to lead a settled life.

The village is located in the fork of two rivers, which were protection on three sides of the village. The village grew and the settlements went beyond the rivers, as a result of which the sections of the village that went beyond the rivers began to be called Novoselitsa and Zarechye.

Number of inhabitants and their past occupations

According to L. Pokhilevich, as of 1863, there were 2568 residents of both sexes in Malopolovetsky, and in the charter of Count Vladislav Branitsky dated 9.9.1862 there were 1151 men of serfs of both sexes. From this we can conclude that 1417 inhabitants were not serfs, but were state-owned peasants and did not work out corvee.

Only in the Kiev region are there the villages of Polovetskoye (Boguslavsky district), Malopolovetskoye (Fastovsky district), Velikopolovetskoye (Skvirsky district), and Svira itself was called Polovechina for some time.

Velikopolovetskoe is located on the shores of Kamenka, 20 km from Fastov, 35 km from Squira and 22 km from Bila Tserkva . According to the letter of 1390 of the Lithuanian prince Vladimir Olgerdovich, it belonged to the descendants of the Polovtsian prince Tugorkan - Rozhinovsky (princes Polovtsy Rozhinovsky ). in 1591 it was included in the Belotserkovsky elder and, according to the letter of the Polish king, was transferred to the possession of the Polish magnate M. Ruzhinsky.

Near the village in the tract Zarechye, the remains of settlements dating back to the Neolithic period (IV — III millennium BC), bronze (II millennium BC) and Kievan Rus (X – XIII century) were preserved.
