Magindanao ( Tagalog. Maguindanao ) - the province of the Philippines , which is part of the autonomous region in the Muslim Mindanao . The administrative center is the city of Sharif Aguak . Area - 4900.1 kmΒ². It borders in the north with South Lanao , in the east with Cotabato , in the south with the province of Sultan-Kudarat .

Content
Geography
The province is located in the eastern part of the island of Mindanao , in the lower reaches of the Mindanao River , also called Pulangi. This river forms a valley, a lowland suitable for farming. The rest of the territory of Magindanao is mountainous. On the border with Lanao is the Ragang volcano (1842 m).
Ilyana Bay, to which the shores of the province are facing, belongs to the larger Moro Bay.

The population is 944,718 people (2010), the population density is 192.80 people / kmΒ².
The provinces of the Visayas and Magindanao live. The latter belongs to the group of Moro peoples who profess Islam .
