Biography
Dmitry Vorontsov was born in Leningrad in 1970, began his studies with Ermilov G. A, at the school named after Rimsky-Korsakov - with Voronin N.V. Entered the St. Petersburg State Conservatory with Vitaliy Buyanovsky. Since 1991 he has been working in the State Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater, since 1993 as a soloist of the French horn group. Laureate of the All-Russian competition of the Brass ensembles (1990), laureate of the international competition in Nizhny Novgorod (1993). Dmitry Vorontsov regularly takes part in performances, festivals and foreign tours of the Mariinsky Theater, he is a regular participant in various chamber music projects, including the Mariinsky Wind Quintet and the Mariinsky Theater French Horn Quartet. He regularly holds French horn workshops and seminars in Russia, performs solo concerts. In 2008, Dmitry Vorontsov was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Since 2012 - Associate Professor of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. In 2013, he was the organizer of the All-Russian French horn workshop with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
