Geographical position
The village of Mikhailovka is located on the right bank of the Orchik River , a little upstream from the place where the Pear River flows into it. There is a dam on the river that forms the Mikhailovskoye reservoir (~ 70 hectares).
Part of the village used to be called Ostapenkov.
