It dates from about 1195-1205 years. The text is preserved in a single manuscript and consists of 4132 twelve-complex verses; loesses are connected both by rhymes and by assonances . It was published in 1861 and 1967.

Story

Garnier, son of Doon de Nanteil , lost his father early and was raised by Charlemagne, who gives him his niece Aya, as his wife, although her late father conspired with Beranger, son of Ganelon . Because of this, fierce hostility flares up between Garnier and Beranger. Aya falls into the hands of enemies, Avignon is plundered and burned. Karl campaigns against the Garnier clan (the emperor is convinced that Garnier was malicious at him). Aya flees to Mallorca and is captured by the Saracen king Ganor. Berangier conspires with Marsilius (the Saracen king of Spain), who begins the war with Ganor. Garnier finds his wife in Mallorca and in disguise penetrates the court of Ganor. The war ends with the victory of Ganor, who sets sail for Mecca , leaving his lands in the care of Garnier. Garnier and Aya flee to Avignon, and Aya gives birth to a son Guy. Little Guy is kidnapped by Ganor. The war with Berangier resumes, Garnier dies in one of the battles. Milon of Ardennes, Ganelon’s nephew, wooed Aya, but Aya hesitated to answer. The grown-up Guy at the head of the Ganor squads deals with the murderers of his father, and then marries his mother to his caring teacher, who converted to Christianity.

Tristan de Nantale

Aya also acts in a poem, the main character of which is her grandson Tristan de Nantale . Aya and Ganor are captured by the Saracens, but Aye succeeds in escaping, she dresses in a man's outfit and, under the name of Gandion, accepts knight initiation. At the court of the Sultan, she was almost married to Eglantin, the wife of her son Guy (Guy and Eglantin were also captured by pirates). In the end, Tristan frees everyone, but in France, Guy and Eglantina are killed by traitors, and Ayia dies of grief.
