Asri is located between the hills of Zebbuj and Ammar. Its name is obviously of Arab origin and is associated with the production of olive oil in this area. On the Gurdan hill, near the village, is the eponymous lighthouse, built in 1853 . Its height is 180 meters at sea level, and its range reaches 50 kilometers. The hill on which the lighthouse is located is quite high and offers excellent views of the entire island.

One of the village roads leads to the Vied-il-Asri valley, along which there are many typical village houses, as well as the remarkable chapel of the Virgin Mary . The valley overlooks the sea and ends with high cliffs and a small bay. This place is very popular among swimmers and divers.

The construction of the village parish church began in 1903 , and its opening and consecration took place on the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ on January 9, 1916 . The church is dedicated to Christ the Savior .
