B-92

Tank engine V-92

The V-92 is a Russian four-stroke V-shaped 12-cylinder multi - fuel turbo-charged liquid - fuel tank diesel engine . It has direct fuel injection and is fully dynamically balanced. It develops power up to 1000 horsepower (736 kW ) at 2000 rpm, designed for installation on T-90 tanks. The exhaust system is located in the overhang, which reduces the heat of the hull and the visibility of the tank for infrared guidance systems. The engine is made using aluminum alloys - crankcase, cylinder block, pistons (AK12D). The valves are made of chromium-molybdenum steel 40X10S2M.

By 2000, ChTZ successfully completed the engine's GSI [1] .

In 2017, the V-92S2F engine (1130 hp) began to be installed on T-72B3 tanks upgraded by the Uralvagonzavod Scientific and Production Corporation (UVZ) [2] .
