Name Origin
The Bolshoi and Maly Mogiltsevsky lanes were named in 1922 according to the name of the area of Mogiltsy “small hills, humps”, “uneven, hilly hummocky tracts”. It has been suggested that the area of Mogiltsy (Mogilitsy) was named after the church cemetery. But before the plague of 1771, cemeteries existed in almost every parish church. Therefore, this feature could hardly form the basis of the name of the area. The former name of the alleys - Bolshoi and Maly Uspensky - was given from the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary "that on Mogiltsy" (known since 1560, rebuilt in 1799-1806; closed in 1932 and partially destroyed).
Description

To the north and parallel to it passes Maly Mogiltsevsky .
