Biography
Born into a large peasant family: he had three sisters and two brothers. Russian
In 1931, his father Fyodor Ilyich (1895-1942) was arrested in the village of Bunyakovka with his family: wife Lukery Ivanovna (1895-1936), daughter Agafya (born in 1915), Maria (born in 1917), Lydia (born in 1920) , sons Alexey (born in 1924), Ivan (born in 1926), Nikolai (born in 1928). In addition to his father, uncle Timofey Ilyich (born in 1900) and his family were also arrested (wife Natalya Antonovna, daughters Anna, Nadezhda, sons Grigory, Vasily). Father, uncle and their families were sent for special settlement to the village of Aleksandrovskoye, Narymsky District, West Siberian Territory [4] , despite the fact that the family did not have wealth [5] . Alyosha was forced to start working early along with adults. Together with his father shepherd cattle, worked in the garden. His mother, Lukerya Ivanovna , was often ill from the hardships of exile and died in 1936 . In 1942, his father died - Fedor Ilyich .
His father, Fyodor Ilyich Lebed, was rehabilitated only on June 26, 1997, by the Department of Internal Affairs in the Omsk Region.
While there was an opportunity to study at school, Alex studied well, was fond of reading and even went in for sports. He graduated from 9 classes of junior high school. But the care of younger brothers and sisters fell on the shoulders of the elder sister and older brother Alexei, as well as on himself. Childhood ended, but Alexei did not completely finish school. After the death of his father, at the age of 17, as an adult, he went to work as a timekeeper in the Bolshevik industrial artel to feed his family and younger children. At that time (during the second year of the war ), mainly women and teenagers worked in the artel, the men of the village were mobilized for the war.
On May 25, 1943, Aleksey Lebedev was drafted into the Red Army by the Aleksandrovsky draft board . May 12, 1943 the ship "Karl Marx" took Alexei Lebedev from his native village to the city of Novosibirsk . Here, in the vicinity of Berdsk , Alexey underwent initial military training, and on August 26 their company was sent to the front. In early September 1943, Alexei Lebedev received a baptism of fire - their company as part of the Steppe Front was introduced into the fighting on the Dnieper . Here, during the crossing of the Dnieper, in October 1943 A. Lebedev was seriously wounded and sent for treatment to a hospital in the city of Voronezh .
After recovery, he was sent to command courses, which he graduated in October 1944 , received the officer rank (junior lieutenant) and the position of platoon commander. He continued his service in the Cossack units [6] .
As part of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, he participated in the liberation of the right-bank Ukraine , Moldova , Romania , Hungary , Czechoslovakia . In January 1945, his regiment, as part of the capture of Budapest, fought with the Nazis in Czechoslovakia, north of the Danube River . In one of the fierce battles, he died the death of the brave.
He was buried at the scene of the battle, in the village of Bela near the Slovak city of Nove Zamky .

Feat
The platoon commander of the 677th Infantry Regiment of the 409th Infantry Division of the Kirovograd Division of the 7th Guards Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front , Lieutenant Aleksey Lebedev , took part in the battle for the village of Bela (36 km south-east of the Czechoslovak city of Nove- Locks ). At the critical moment of the battle, the officer covered the body of the Nazi machine gun with his body [7] , which prevented the advance of the unit by fire. At the cost of life, he contributed to the fulfillment of the combat mission.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 28, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, Lieutenant Aleksei Fedorovich posthumously was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
